This is an extremist case in terms of protection. We were thinking that Otterbox Defender iPad 2 case was providing the most protective cases for iPad and iPad 2… until so far.
This is really the “Man’s case” which has passed the US Department of Defense MIL STD 810 tests. Made from premium grade polycarbonate, the Griffin Survivor case will protect the tablet from rain, shock, dirt, sand, wind, drops etc. The material is shock-absorbing and developed against shattering.
We liked the fact that Griffing actually provides the exact values for the leves of protection. For example, the test results show that if you drop the iPad 2 from 1.8 m / 6′ to a hard concrete surface, your tablet will survice this shock. There are many other values provided on their Amazon.com product page.
The case also is a stand which you can position in vertically and horizontally.

There is only one issue which is minor. You can not use the case on a docking station. But, we know that many people do not use an iPad 2 dock, so probably it will not be an issue for you.
The other features include the nice grip, rubberized surface. There are plugs for iPad functions including volume controls, headphone port, dock connector, camera lens etc. The iPad 2 cover ships with a screen protector which will not add the touch sensitivity of the tablet.
Overall, Griffin Survivor Extreme-Duty case is a perfect choice if you want MUSCLE for your iPad 2 tablet.
